DESIGN CHALLENGE
Design a lobby promoting better service, better
flow, and better brand positioning. All the while
achieving the elegance of understated luxury.
The core design objective is to create a central reception area that does not take away
from the existing lobby space. One that allows for the front desk attendant to directly
greet and address visitors and residents upon first entering. A centrally located front desk
reception area that will both enhance the customer service experience and increase the
sense of security.
Central to the challenge is the relocation of the existing reception and security area.
The current space also offers back up as package storage, back office storage (filing
cabinets) and make shift server room. The program calls for moving the receptionist
to a centrally located location in the main lobby. The new front desk will need to have
storage space, drawers, integrated power outlets, battery backups, ventilation, as well
as accommodate data and security monitors in an obtrusive manner. The end result is
a fully self contained and thoroughly organized custom desk system that is designed to
accommodate all of the core functioning required of the front desk attendant.
The former reception area will be designed to function primarily as a package storage
facility. Additional storage, as well as file cabinets and a properly encased and ventilated
server rack are also to be entertained.
